Beighton Falcons U14's Season 2007 - 2008

Its been that time of year again, where you need to decide your aims for the following season and also your players you want to get to those aims. The first choice was it going to be a good old season of aiming to finish 4th again, or were we going to go for the top prizes. There is only one aim for me and we are going to reach for the stars and if we reach the sky then great. Trials started earlier than normal due to demand from the lads, really annoyed with last years 4th we came back to training after a 5 week break. Training was good this year with lots of new faces all competing and some old faces were missing. We pushed on with the trials, and started saying no to some kids at an earlier stage than normal, to help them find another club. The decisions were hard and eventually the squad found, a few training games later and no the squad wasn't right. A couple of new faces later and then we were happy. Very happy in fact.

The squad for 2007 -2008 it is displayed in no particular order as I do not have a clue of my starting 11.

1.Richard Minahan
Goalkeeper and extremely brave. Richard is carrying on from last season, still learning but getting better and better.

2.Alex Clarke
Defender adding strength to his game this season.

3.Josh Bramall
Defender, with the addition of strength and maybe a bit of extra pace.

4.Tom Bradley (Captain)
Defender, brings the teenage attitude to the game this year and takes it out on the opponent.

5. Adam the Raddish Normington
Midfield / Goalkeeper, he may be small but he wins the ball in the air, getting fitter and more determined. Will have a great season.

6. Adam Harrington
Midfield where he belongs, strong determined and skilled, facing goal he scores goals.

7. Ryan Hall
Midfielder, pass a ball anywhere on the pitch adding tackling and heading to his game and now getting better and better.

8. Zack Cawthorne
Midfield work horse with an amazing finish. Try and get past him if you can.

9. Lewis Jones
Striker / Midfielder challenge him and you will lose, give him space and he will score. Solid.

10. Michael Spence
Striker, do not know how but from defence to strike in 2 games and amazing at it.

11. Alex Montisci
Midfielder / Striker, I wouldn't play against him, just pure trickery

12. Obi Downs
Midfield, working forward and working back, crossing scoring, tackling, say no more.

14. Adam Froud
Defender / Midfielder I might put striker as well, quality utility player, play any where do anything all at a high level.

15. Mitch Deane
Midfielder fitter and faster and showing every skill, passing, shooting the lot.

16. Wade Cummings
Midfield Maestro, you won't see him coming, and when you realise he is there its too late.

Will this be the squad to do the damage this year, we will have to wait and see only time will tell.
